Job Description:
American Express is hiring an Analyst – Data Analytics to join its Global Strategy & Operations team in Gurugram. This role is part of the Analytics (AIM) team, which acts as the analytical engine driving growth for the Global Commercial Card business. As a Data Analyst, you will work on high-impact projects involving customer acquisition, personalization strategies, and performance optimization. In this role, you will analyze large datasets to uncover trends, evaluate marketing performance, and generate insights that influence business strategies. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth data analysis to evaluate marketing campaigns, sales performance, and customer behavior, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Develop and deliver actionable insights by translating complex datasets into clear, business-friendly recommendations for stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business partners, and technology teams, to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Build and maintain analytical models and dashboards that track key performance metrics and support strategic initiatives.
- Utilize SQL and Python to extract, process, and analyze large datasets efficiently, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Apply machine learning techniques to enhance predictive analytics and improve targeting and personalization strategies.
- Communicate insights effectively through storytelling, presentations, and reports to influence business strategies and outcomes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Experiment with emerging technologies such as Generative AI to develop innovative solutions for business challenges.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve analytics processes, tools, and methodologies for better efficiency and impact.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Physics, with a strong academic foundation.
- 0–2 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field, preferably in a business or financial services environment.
- Strong programming skills in SQL and Python, with the ability to handle large datasets and perform complex analyses.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in solving business problems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
- Experience or familiarity with Generative AI tools and techniques, and the ability to apply them in real-world use cases.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to present data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, innovate, and adapt in a fast-paced business environment.

The expected salary for an Analyst – Data Analytics role at American Express in India typically ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹16 LPA for candidates with 0–2 years of experience.
