Job Description:

Glean is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join its innovative engineering team in Bangalore. The role involves designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans that validate product features and releases. You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify defects, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and ensure timely resolution of issues. This position requires strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Chrome Developer Tools, and automation frameworks. You will also be expected to test complex scenarios, including edge cases and permission-based systems, ensuring that applications function seamlessly across different browsers, platforms, and user roles.

As part of Glean’s agile development culture, you will contribute to continuous testing cycles with frequent product releases. You will help enhance automation frameworks, troubleshoot failing test cases, and ensure that test suites evolve alongside product changes. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, create, and execute detailed test plans to validate product features and ensure high-quality releases. Continuously update test cases based on evolving product requirements and use cases.

• Perform manual and automation testing of web applications, ensuring functionality, performance, and usability meet expected standards. Validate across different browsers and operating systems.

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for identified bugs using developer tools such as network and console logs, server logs, and SQL queries. Provide actionable insights for faster resolution.

• Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like Jira with detailed reproduction steps and supporting data. Ensure clear communication with engineering teams.

• Reproduce and validate bugs reported by external users or stakeholders, ensuring issues are properly understood and resolved.

• Execute extended and edge-case testing scenarios to uncover hidden defects and improve the robustness of test coverage.

• Collaborate with developers and product managers to align testing strategies with business requirements and product updates.

• Contribute to the automation testing framework by writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts. Ensure automation suites remain stable and up to date.

• Monitor and triage failing automation tests, identify root causes, and implement fixes to maintain testing efficiency.

• Participate actively in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and release cycles, ensuring continuous quality delivery.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech/BSc) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A strong academic background helps in understanding software systems and testing methodologies.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in both manual and automation testing, specifically for responsive web applications. Practical exposure is essential for this role.

• Strong knowledge of web application architecture and functionality, including client-server interactions and browser behavior.

• Experience testing across multiple operating systems and browsers to ensure cross-platform compatibility and performance.

• Hands-on experience with bug tracking and debugging tools such as Jira and Chrome Developer Tools. Ability to analyze logs and identify issues effectively.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for automation testing. Familiarity with REST APIs and API testing is an added advantage.

• Experience working in Agile environments with frequent product releases. Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and timelines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify complex edge cases and hidden defects.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple testing tasks and maintain high-quality standards.

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a global environment. Experience in mobile testing or RBAC/permission-based systems is a plus.

The expected salary for a Quality Assurance Engineer with 2+ years of experience in Bangalore typically ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹18 LPA, depending on technical expertise, automation skills, and experience with modern QA tools and frameworks.
