Job Description

EY is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer (Specialist I) to join its Technology Consulting team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications by implementing effective testing strategies and frameworks. The position involves working closely with development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into comprehensive test cases and automation scripts. The QA Engineer will execute various types of testing including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing. By identifying defects, analyzing discrepancies, and recommending improvements, the engineer ensures that applications meet both technical specifications and user expectations. The role also requires participation in design reviews, helping teams identify potential quality risks early in the development lifecycle.

In addition to testing responsibilities, the role emphasizes continuous improvement and innovation in quality assurance practices. The QA Engineer will contribute to developing automation strategies, maintaining testing frameworks, and improving testing efficiency through modern tools and methodologies. Working in an Agile environment, the professional will collaborate across multiple teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and execute functional, regression, performance, and usability testing to ensure application quality and reliability.

2. Develop and maintain test scripts and automation frameworks to support efficient and scalable testing processes.

3. Translate functional requirements and technical specifications into detailed test cases and testing scenarios.

4. Identify defects, analyze discrepancies, and document issues along with recommendations for improvement.

5. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects and maintain software quality standards.

6. Participate in end-to-end testing and exploratory testing to validate application workflows and user experiences.

7. Conduct stress testing and performance testing to evaluate application stability under different load conditions.

8. Prepare comprehensive test reports documenting results, defects, and quality insights for stakeholders.

9. Participate in design and code reviews to identify potential risks and ensure quality standards are met early in development.

10. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience in software quality assurance with a mix of manual and automation testing expertise.

3. Strong knowledge of functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and accessibility testing methodologies.

4. Experience in writing and executing test scripts and developing automation frameworks.

5. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence for project management and collaboration.

6. Understanding of programming languages such as Java, Angular, Node.js, or SQL for testing and debugging purposes.

7. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Bruno and automation frameworks like Cucumber.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex testing issues.

9. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

10. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work efficiently in fast-paced development environments.

The typical salary for a Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of experience in India generally ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹16 LPA, depending on expertise in automation testing, tools, and enterprise project exposure.
