Quest Global is seeking a skilled Automation QA Engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience to join its engineering team in Pune. The Automation QA Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring software quality by designing and implementing advanced automation frameworks that validate applications, APIs, and system-level functionalities. In this role, the Automation QA Engineer will develop scalable automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver with Java and API testing tools such as REST Assured or Karate. The engineer will focus on automating complex workflows, validating Linux-based agent systems, and ensuring robust test coverage across multiple environments. The role requires expertise in automation testing across web applications, APIs, and Linux systems, enabling the organization to improve software quality and accelerate release cycles. By integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, the engineer will help maintain continuous testing and reliable deployment processes.

The position also involves working closely with development teams, DevOps engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure comprehensive quality assurance across the software development lifecycle. The Automation QA Engineer will contribute to building regression-ready test suites, performing system validation, and analyzing application logs to detect anomalies and potential issues. With exposure to modern technologies including containerization, cloud platforms, and automation frameworks, this role provides a strong opportunity for professionals to expand their expertise in automation engineering and advanced software testing practices.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and implement robust test automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and Linux-based systems using Selenium WebDriver and Java.

2. Develop and maintain automated test scripts that validate application functionality, workflows, and system performance across different environments.

3. Automate API testing using frameworks such as REST Assured or Karate to ensure seamless integration between application components.

4. Build and maintain scalable automation suites that cover end-to-end workflows including installation processes, service lifecycle management, and device plug-and-play operations.

5. Develop utilities and scripts using Python or shell scripting to analyze logs, detect anomalies, and perform automated validation tasks.

6. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and CodeWay to ensure continuous testing during the software development lifecycle.

7. Perform Linux-based system validation including log analysis, dependency management, and troubleshooting system-level issues.

8. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve software quality by identifying defects early and ensuring efficient resolution.

9. Maintain test documentation, test cases, and automation reports using tools such as JIRA and TestRail for proper test management and traceability.

10. Continuously enhance testing frameworks and methodologies to improve automation efficiency and ensure reliable software delivery.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

2. 4 to 6 years of professional experience in software testing with strong expertise in automation testing frameworks.

3. Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java for building scalable web automation solutions.

4. Experience with API testing frameworks such as REST Assured or Karate for validating backend services and integrations.

5. Strong knowledge of Linux environments including system debugging, log analysis, and application validation in Linux-based systems.

6. Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, SQL, or Shell scripting for automation and validation tasks.

7. Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and version control systems like Git.

8. Knowledge of SQL for data validation and database testing within automation workflows.

9. Familiarity with software testing methodologies including SDLC, STLC, and Agile development processes.

10. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

The typical salary for an Automation QA Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in India generally ranges between ₹10 LPA to ₹20 LPA, depending on technical expertise in automation frameworks, programming languages, and DevOps integration.
