Job Description:

Festo India Private Ltd., a global leader in industrial automation and intelligent engineering solutions, is hiring a Test Automation Engineer with DevOps expertise for its technology team in Bangalore. In this role, you will contribute to the development and optimization of internal DevOps tools that support automated testing operations across global engineering teams. As part of an interdisciplinary agile testing team, you will help maintain and enhance automated testing environments that ensure consistent software quality and reliable system performance.

The position focuses on designing, standardizing, and maintaining CI/CT/CD pipelines that streamline automated testing and software deployment processes. You will work closely with developers and QA engineers to integrate testing frameworks with modern DevOps workflows. By managing virtualized environments and implementing automation strategies, you will support efficient execution of both manual and automated test scenarios. This role plays a critical part in enabling scalable testing infrastructure within Festo’s international engineering ecosystem.

Working within an agile development environment, you will also monitor build pipelines, troubleshoot deployment issues, and ensure smooth code integration across testing environments. Leveraging tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab, and virtualization platforms like VMware or Azure, you will help deliver reliable and high-performance DevOps solutions. Your contribution will support Festo’s mission to drive innovation in industrial automation technologies while maintaining high standards of software quality and operational efficiency.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with agile testing teams to develop and maintain DevOps tools supporting automated testing processes.

  2. Design, implement, and manage CI/CT/CD pipelines to enable efficient test automation and continuous integration workflows.

  3. Maintain and standardize repositories and version control processes using Git-based platforms.

  4. Manage and maintain virtualized environments used for both automated and manual testing activities.

  5. Integrate automated testing frameworks with DevOps pipelines to streamline build and deployment processes.

  6. Monitor build systems, identify issues in deployment pipelines, and troubleshoot errors to maintain stable testing environments.

  7. Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration of code, test cases, and deployment processes.

  8. Utilize modern DevOps tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and infrastructure scalability.

  9. Document automation processes, pipeline configurations, and system architecture for knowledge sharing.

  10. Continuously optimize testing infrastructure by implementing new tools and improving DevOps workflows.


Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

  2. 3–5 years of practical experience working with DevOps tools and test automation environments.

  3. Strong expertise in version control systems such as Git and platforms like GitLab, Jenkins, or TeamCity.

  4. Experience working with virtualization tools including VirtualBox, VMware, Azure, or similar platforms.

  5. Programming knowledge in Microsoft .NET/C# and/or Python for automation and DevOps scripting tasks.

  6. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing methodologies in modern software development environments.

  7. Experience working in Agile development frameworks such as Scrum or similar iterative methodologies.

  8. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.

  9. Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.

  10. Good written and spoken English communication skills (minimum B2 level proficiency).


Expected Salary:

For a Test Automation Engineer with DevOps expertise and 3–5 years of experience in Bangalore, the typical salary range generally falls between β‚Ή9 LPA to β‚Ή16 LPA depending on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevOps infrastructure tools.
