Role Overview

Empower is hiring an Engineer – Automation Quality to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts that validate application functionality. This role requires strong hands-on automation expertise, particularly in Java, Selenium, BDD frameworks, and API/UI testing, along with collaboration across cross-functional Agile teams.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Automation Design & Execution

• Design and develop moderately complex automated test scripts.

• Execute automated test cases and report results.

• Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks.

• Ensure automated tests stay aligned with evolving application changes.

🔹 Defect & Quality Management

• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA or similar tools.

• Provide clear and structured documentation for test cases and results.

• Analyze test results and debug automation failures effectively.

🔹 Collaboration & Best Practices

• Work closely with software engineering teams to understand requirements.

• Follow automation best practices and suggest improvements.

• Mentor junior automation engineers and guide skill development.

• Perform manual testing when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–4 years total testing experience with 1–2 years in automation.

• Strong proficiency in Core Java.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Selenium

  • Karate

  • JUnit / TestNG

  • Cucumber (BDD)

• Experience in UI and API functional testing.

• Familiarity with SQL and database validation.

• Experience with Git version control.

• Experience with JIRA and test management tools (ZE).

• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of CI tools like Jenkins.

• Good design and estimation techniques.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Expected Salary

For an Automation Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in Bengaluru (remote flexibility), the expected salary typically ranges between ₹8 LPA – ₹13 LPA, depending on automation framework expertise, Java proficiency, and CI/CD exposure.
