Job Description:

Capgemini is hiring an experienced Automation Testing Engineer proficient in Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress to join its Quality Engineering & Testing team in Mumbai. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact digital transformation projects with global clients across industries. As part of Capgemini’s technology-driven ecosystem, you will design and implement automation frameworks, perform cross-browser testing, and ensure seamless software delivery through robust automation strategies and CI/CD integrations.

In this position, you will contribute to defining Capgemini’s automation testing excellence by using modern web testing tools, scripting in JavaScript or TypeScript, and integrating testing workflows with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, product owners, and QA engineers to validate application quality across multiple environments and ensure the reliability and scalability of client solutions. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, ensuring end-to-end test coverage across applications.

  • Build and maintain modular, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks to streamline continuous testing efforts.

  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing, validating responsiveness, compatibility, and accessibility.

  • Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for seamless deployment validation.

  • Collaborate closely with developers and QA teams to identify defects early and maintain product quality throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured to verify backend service reliability.

  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile/Scrum ceremonies to align QA deliverables with business priorities.

  • Implement version control best practices using Git for maintaining clean, auditable testing codebases.

  • Analyze test reports, document defects, and support troubleshooting efforts to achieve consistent delivery outcomes.

  • Contribute to test strategy improvement, optimizing performance and automation coverage across releases.


Requirements & Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering discipline.

  • 4–8 years of experience in Automation Testing using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium frameworks.

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for scripting automated tests and framework customization.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI to automate test execution pipelines.

  • Good understanding of API testing using Postman or REST Assured to validate data and service reliability.

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Lighthouse for evaluating response times and system stability.

  • Exposure to BDD frameworks like Cucumber is a plus, enhancing test readability and collaboration.

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience working in iterative delivery cycles.

  • Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments for testing consistency across platforms.

  • Basic awareness of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for environment setup and deployment testing.

  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to thrive in collaborative project environments.
