The Analyst role within the Capital Markets & Advisory Group is a high-impact, entry-level position that provides hands-on exposure to equity capital markets (ECM) and investment banking transactions. Analysts play a key role in supporting senior bankers on client mandates, financial modeling, pitch development, and live deal execution. Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with senior bankers and product teams to execute client transactions and capital-raising mandates.

• Conduct in-depth financial and valuation analysis, building complex models to support strategic recommendations.

• Prepare pitch books, financial summaries, and investor presentations for live deals and client meetings.

• Analyze company performance using market data, peer benchmarking, and industry research to support client strategy.

• Develop detailed equity and debt valuation models, including DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses.

• Draft written recommendations, presentations, and strategic reports for equity capital markets (ECM) transactions.

• Track market developments, IPO trends, and regulatory updates to inform client advisory initiatives.

• Assist in managing the end-to-end transaction cycle, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.

• Work collaboratively across coverage and product teams, supporting business origination and execution.

• Uphold HSBC’s global standards of ethics, governance, and compliance in all professional activities.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, or related discipline from a top-tier institution.

• Prior experience in investment banking, capital markets, or a related financial role preferred.

• Strong financial modeling, quantitative, and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and valuation techniques.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and business writing skills.

• Deep understanding of financial statements, market analysis, and capital market instruments.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients and senior management effectively.

• A passion for capital markets, deal execution, and financial strategy.

Expected Salary
