Williams-Sonoma India is seeking a motivated Associate Software Engineer (DevOps) to join its Pune technology team. This entry-level role is perfect for candidates with foundational knowledge in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud/on-prem environments. As a DevOps engineer, you will work closely with development and operations teams to support the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of build, deployment, and automation pipelines. This role offers exposure to real-world eCommerce, retail, and supply chain applications, providing a strong platform for professional growth in the rapidly evolving DevOps field.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, configuration management, and CI/CD tooling. You will collaborate with senior engineers to configure environments, manage virtual machines, and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Additionally, you will develop practical skills in scripting languages like Python and shell, automating tasks that support build and deployment processes. Your contributions will directly impact system reliability, deployment efficiency, and overall operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application builds and deployments.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to configure and manage on-premise VMs and Kubernetes clusters.

• Apply basic scripting skills in Python, shell, or Groovy to automate routine tasks and improve pipeline efficiency.

• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation of DevOps processes and tools.

• Support developers during testing, pre-production, and production deployments.

• Monitor the health and status of CI/CD tools and environments, raising issues proactively.

• Collaborate with team members to understand and adopt DevOps best practices and emerging tools.

• Continuously build expertise in containerization, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD tooling.

• Develop familiarity with version control systems, cloud concepts, and SDLC processes.

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills while learning from senior engineers.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 0–2 years of experience in a related role, including internships or academic projects.

• Basic understanding of virtual machines, on-prem infrastructure, and cloud concepts.

• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins.

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git/GitHub).

• Basic scripting/programming skills in Python or another scripting language.

• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.

• Strong eagerness to learn, collaborate, and adapt in a fast-paced DevOps environment.

• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
