Job Description

Infineon Technologies is seeking a talented Engineer Applications to join its Bangalore team, focusing on cutting-edge semiconductor solutions for power systems and IoT. In this role, you will develop and customize firmware for reference designs, solution demos, and specific customer requirements, ensuring the highest standards of product performance and reliability. You will work on Type-C and USB-PD applications, performing validation of firmware and hardware against customer specifications and reviewing designs including schematics, layouts, and embedded code. As part of the role, you will conduct interoperability and compliance tests on both reference and customer designs, leveraging your understanding of analog and digital interfaces, power management circuits, and embedded systems. You will also prepare application notes and documentation for Type-C and USB-PD solutions, providing guidance for both internal teams and external clients.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize firmware for reference designs, customer demos, and tailored solutions.

  • Validate firmware and hardware to ensure compliance with customer requirements and technical specifications.

  • Review customer designs, including schematics, PCB layouts, and embedded software, to provide constructive feedback.

  • Conduct interoperability and compliance tests for USB-PD and Type-C applications.

  • Write application notes and technical documentation to support internal teams and external clients.

  • Debug and test microcontroller and interface products, ensuring proper functionality and performance.

  • Perform board bring-up and lab testing, including analog circuits, voltage regulators, and power distribution systems.

  • Utilize lab equipment like oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, electronic loads, and power supplies to conduct experiments and troubleshoot issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality execution of engineering projects.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in embedded systems, power electronics, and IoT applications to enhance solution quality.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science.

  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience in embedded systems or firmware development.

  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller products, interface debugging, and embedded applications.

  • Strong knowledge of host interfaces including USB, I2C, UART, SPI, and familiarity with analog circuits.

  • Understanding of power management circuits, switching regulators, LDOs, and DC-DC converters.

  • Practical experience in board bring-up, testing, and debugging of analog circuits.

  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across engineering and customer teams.
