Job Description

Deutsche Bank is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Data Automation Engineer to join its global KYC Operations team at Velankani Tech Park, Bangalore. This role is an integral part of the bank’s first line of defense against financial crime, supporting efficient onboarding processes and ensuring compliance with global KYC standards. As a Data Automation Engineer, you will work on building fast, reliable automation solutions to remove repetitive tasks, streamline data workflows, and strengthen the quality of reference data used across Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB).

You will collaborate with stakeholders, solution architects, and business analysts to deliver tactical automation and long-term data pipeline strategies. Your work will involve leveraging technologies like Python, VBA, SQL, MS Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint to create scalable, production-ready solutions. Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across KYC Operations to identify areas where automation can deliver measurable business value.

• Design, develop, and deploy data automation solutions using Python, VBA, SQL, and MS Power Automate, ensuring scalability and stability.

• Automate manual processes and repetitive tasks, creating proof-of-concept solutions that can evolve into strategic tools.

• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, integrating them with existing enterprise architecture and technology standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.

• Document requirements, solution designs, and test scripts, maintaining high-quality artefacts for future reference and audits.

• Provide L1 support for existing RPA solutions, troubleshooting and resolving issues within defined turnaround times.

• Participate in process mapping and re-engineering exercises to improve workflows and increase operational efficiency.

• Share knowledge and reusable components with other teams to promote best practices and standardization.

• Report progress, blockers, and risks to management, ensuring timely delivery of automation projects.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Strong programming experience in Python, VBA, and SQL, with the ability to work with large datasets efficiently.

• Hands-on experience with MS Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI for developing business solutions.

• Exposure to ETL processes, data pipeline design, and enterprise process modeling (current and future state).

• Experience with workflow automation tools, RPA solutions, or platforms like Alteryx, Pentaho, or Celonis is desirable.

• Familiarity with Linux environments, database tuning, and performance optimization techniques.

• Ability to document solutions thoroughly, including requirements, test scripts, and JIRA ticket management.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in global, virtual teams.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

• Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, and business logic.

Expected Salary

For a Data Automation Engineer role in Bangalore, salaries typically range between ₹12–18 LPA, depending on experience level, expertise in Python and automation tools, and exposure to enterprise-scale projects.
