Microsoft – Software Engineer

Microsoft’s Azure Data Engineering team is driving innovation in data platforms, empowering the age of AI with world-class products like Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Event Hub, and Service Bus.

This role is part of the Microsoft Fabric Platform Team, which provides a unified data stack and architecture. Specifically, you will work with the Telemetry Data Team to build scalable telemetry pipelines for diagnostics, analytics, and compliance — leveraging Azure Data Explorer, EventHub, Power BI, Synapse, Spark, and Kafka.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain core services, APIs, and SDKs for telemetry production and consumption.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design service data models using Azure and Microsoft technologies.

• Fix bugs, resolve technical debt, and support continuous service improvement.

• Participate in feature design and development under senior engineer guidance.

• Work closely with Product Management and partner teams on solution delivery.

• Join on-call rotations with mentorship and support to maintain service reliability.

Required Qualifications:

✅ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, OR equivalent experience.
✅ Programming: Proficiency in at least one of the following – C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
✅ Compliance: Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every 2 years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable, reliable solutions.

• Hands-on exposure to telemetry, messaging, data streaming, analytics, or databases.
