Roles & Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end projects, from planning and prototyping to testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth system operations.

• Develop an understanding of large-scale distributed systems and learn how to make them efficient and reliable.

• Contribute to open-source software projects, helping strengthen Stripe’s technical community presence.

• Continuously explore new technologies, frameworks, and tools, applying them where appropriate to enhance development.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and mentors to improve technical leadership skills and project management expertise.

• Document technical solutions and share best practices across teams to build a culture of knowledge sharing.

Requirements & Eligibility

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, to be completed by Summer 2026. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

• Strong foundation in programming fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design.

• Hands-on experience with coding projects (academic, personal, or professional), with exposure to languages like Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.

• Prior experience with internships or collaborative coding projects that demonstrate teamwork and project delivery.

• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems, conduct research, and adapt to new technologies with guidance from mentors.

• Familiarity with code review practices and understanding of safe deployment in production environments is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to break down complex challenges into manageable tasks.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities, ensuring smooth teamwork and alignment on goals.

• Curiosity to explore frontend and backend technologies and understand how end-to-end systems handle real-world requests.
