Job Description:

As a QA Automation Engineer at Cognizant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java, focusing on UI automation. Additionally, you will leverage the Karate framework for efficient API automation testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across various application layers.

Your role will also involve performing basic SQL queries to validate data integrity and support backend testing. Collaborating closely with developers, QA team members, and product owners, you will ensure that all requirements are met and that the software meets the highest quality standards. Maintaining and enhancing the automation framework for scalability and reusability will be key to your success in this position.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java.

• Develop and execute API automation tests using the Karate framework.

• Collaborate with developers, QA team members, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Perform basic SQL queries to validate data and support backend testing.

• Maintain and enhance the automation framework for scalability and reusability.

• Participate in defect triage and root cause analysis.

• Document test cases, results, and defects clearly and concisely.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Strong experience in Selenium WebDriver and Java for UI automation.

• Hands-on experience with the Karate framework for REST API automation testing.

• Proficiency in writing basic SQL queries for data validation.

• Good understanding of testing methodologies (Agile/Scrum).

• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.

• Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

• Knowledge of BDD/TDD concepts.

• Familiarity with other test frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber).

• Exposure to cloud-based test environments.
