American Express is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist / Analytics Manager to join its International Card Services Centre of Excellence (ICS COE). This role is central to building advanced targeting frameworks, driving marketing analytics, and enabling data-backed decisions across 27+ international markets. Positioned at the intersection of analytics and business strategy, you will play a vital role in helping American Express expand its international card and lending business while ensuring that all solutions adhere to regulatory, compliance, and risk standards.
As part of the Analytics & Strategic Insights Marketing Analytics team, you will collaborate with marketing and sales leaders to develop customer targeting models, optimize acquisition strategies, and measure campaign effectiveness. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge data science, big data programming, and advanced statistical methods, while providing the chance to influence strategic business growth. Roles & Responsibilities

Build and enhance targeting frameworks for customer acquisition and lending treatments, collaborating with marketing teams across international markets.

Drive adoption of targeting frameworks by integrating them into marketing campaigns, ensuring measurable improvements in ROI.

Define and implement test-and-control setups to measure campaign effectiveness and ensure reliable performance tracking.

Conduct strategic deep dives into campaign data to identify optimization opportunities across channels, placements, offers, and content.

Partner with leadership to periodically assess internal acquisition and lending strategies, providing actionable recommendations for growth.

Execute the analytics roadmap, including issue resolution, opportunity identification, success measurement, and automation initiatives.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and financial crime risk frameworks, designing effective controls for analytical processes.

Mentor and guide a team of junior data scientists, setting objectives, coaching them on analytical methods, and reviewing outputs.

Communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders, influencing business strategy through evidence-based recommendations.

Drive continuous innovation by adopting emerging tools, big data platforms, and machine learning techniques.
Requirements & Eligibility

MBA or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering.

0–3 years of relevant experience in analytics, ideally within marketing, risk management, or digital product environments.

Strong technical and analytical skills, with proven ability to apply quantitative methods for solving business problems.

Hands-on programming ability; experience in SQL, Python, or Big Data tools is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of marketing analytics frameworks, including targeting, segmentation, and performance measurement.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders across diverse regions.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights.

Expected Salary
