The role of a Junior Tester is a critical entry point into the world of software quality assurance. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze, and understand system specifications, ensuring clarity and completeness before execution.

• Execute manual test cases across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop applications.

• Assist in the design and development of automated test scripts under guidance from senior testers.

• Identify, document, and track software bugs or defects using tools such as Jira or Bugzilla.

• Work closely with developers to replicate issues, verify fixes, and validate application performance.

• Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure stable product releases.

• Maintain detailed logs of test results and provide consistent updates to project leads and managers.

• Support in creating user manuals, training guides, and testing documentation when required.

• Participate in Agile or Scrum ceremonies, contributing actively to sprint testing activities.

• Suggest improvements to testing processes and share insights gained during execution.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).

• Familiarity with manual testing methodologies such as black-box, white-box, or exploratory testing.

• Exposure to test management or bug-tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.) is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting is an advantage, though not mandatory.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and edge cases.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for ensuring top-quality product releases.

• Internship or academic project experience in software testing will be considered.

• Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies will be an added advantage.

Expected Salary:

Entry-level Junior Testers in Navi Mumbai typically earn between ₹2.8 LPA to ₹4.5 LPA, depending on academic background, technical exposure, and hands-on project experience. Fresh graduates with knowledge of testing tools or prior internship experience may receive compensation at the higher end of this bracket.
