Job Description

Wipro Limited, one of the world’s leading technology services and consulting firms, is on the lookout for an experienced Test Lead – L1 with deep expertise in Microsoft Playwright and automation frameworks. This role is critical to Wipro’s mission of delivering high-quality digital transformation solutions for clients across industries.

As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for driving quality assurance initiatives using Playwright for both GUI and API automation. You will lead test design, scripting, and integration into CI/CD pipelines, working alongside development teams in fast-paced Agile environments. This role not only demands technical proficiency but also leadership in guiding automation strategies and ensuring testing excellence throughout the SDLC.

Roles & Responsibilities

• ✅ Lead test strategy and execution using Microsoft Playwright

• ✅ Automate both GUI and API testing across applications

• ✅ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality across microservices

• ✅ Utilize SQL Server for backend validations and test data preparation

• ✅ Manage source code and pipelines via BitBucket, Octopus, and CI/CD tools

• ✅ Support Agile teams through Scrum ceremonies and iterative testing cycles

• ✅ Track, report, and drive resolution of software defects and inconsistencies

• ✅ Provide guidance on automation best practices and mentor junior testers

• ✅ Coordinate with DevOps teams for containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)

Requirements & Eligibility

• 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 🧪 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in SDET roles

• 🧰 Expertise in Microsoft Playwright, JavaScript, C#, and SQL

• 🌐 Exposure to CI/CD methodologies, containerization tools like Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes

• 🌲 Familiar with Kafka, Azure, React Native, and Git-based source control

• 🔄 Agile mindset with proven experience in Scrum environments

• 🧠 Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills

• 🧭 Able to work independently while aligning with global delivery teams

Expected Salary for This Role

💰 ₹20 LPA – ₹30 LPA
