Randstad India, one of the world’s leading HR and recruitment firms, is hiring for its reputed client seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for their Pune location. This role offers an opportunity to work in an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable software products.

As an SDET, you will play a crucial part in building robust automation frameworks, writing efficient test scripts, and validating both API and UI layers to ensure seamless performance across all modules. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate test automation within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous quality delivery throughout the software lifecycle.

This position is best suited for professionals with a solid understanding of Java, Selenium, and API automation who are passionate about developing cutting-edge testing solutions, improving software quality, and driving innovation through automation excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Java and Selenium for functional, regression, and integration testing.

• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality, production-ready software with continuous feedback loops.

• Develop and enhance automation frameworks leveraging tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, and REST Assured.

• Create, execute, and maintain API test scripts for RESTful web services.

• Design data-driven test cases and manage test data scenarios to support automation.

• Perform SQL queries to validate backend data integrity and ensure application correctness.

• Integrate and execute automation test cases within CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to identify, document, and track defects until resolution.

• Analyze test results, troubleshoot automation issues, and provide quality metrics for process improvement.

• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and test strategy discussions to align with business objectives.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 4+ years of professional experience as an Automation QA Engineer or SDET.

• Strong expertise in Java programming and Selenium WebDriver for test automation.

• Solid understanding of automation frameworks (Data-driven, Keyword-driven, Hybrid, or Page Object Model).

• Hands-on experience with TestNG, REST Assured, and API automation frameworks.

• Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries for backend validation.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira for test management and tracking.

• Familiarity with Appium for mobile automation testing (a plus).

• Basic understanding of AWS cloud services is desirable.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to document test strategies, results, and maintain proper version control using Git or similar tools.

• Immediate joiners preferred.

Expected Salary

The average salary range for an Automation Testing (SDET) role in Pune through Randstad India is approximately ₹9 LPA to ₹15 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and interview performance.
