Qualys – Software QA Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to validate functionality, regression coverage, and integration scenarios.

2. Perform functional, API, and UI testing of cloud-based SaaS security applications to ensure accuracy and seamless user experience.

3. Develop and maintain automation frameworks to improve test efficiency and enhance release confidence in CI/CD environments.

4. Conduct performance and load testing to validate system scalability, reliability, and stability under enterprise-level workloads.

5. Identify, document, and track software defects using structured defect management processes while collaborating closely with developers for timely resolution.

6. Prepare and configure test environments, including deployments on AWS/Azure/GCP and containerized setups using Docker and Kubernetes.

7. Execute database validations and ElasticSearch queries to verify backend data accuracy and system integrity.

8. Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar build management tools.

9. Monitor application performance using tools such as Grafana or AppDynamics to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

10. Maintain detailed test documentation, including performance reports, defect logs, and quality metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.

11. Stay updated with emerging testing methodologies, security testing practices, and automation tools to enhance overall product quality.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. 2–4 years of experience in Software QA, QA Automation, or Performance Testing roles within a product-based or SaaS-driven organization.

2. Strong knowledge of SaaS application testing and cloud-delivered platforms with hands-on exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud environments.

3. Practical experience working with Docker containers and Kubernetes for building and managing scalable test environments.

4. Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and build tools such as Git, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar version control and deployment systems.

5. Hands-on expertise in UI and API automation testing using modern frameworks suitable for enterprise-grade applications.

6. Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and application monitoring platforms such as Grafana or AppDynamics.

7. Good understanding of databases and ability to write and validate SQL queries along with ElasticSearch-based data validations.

8. Familiarity with test and defect management tools for tracking test cycles, defect resolution, and reporting metrics.

9. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, along with the ability to adapt in fast-changing product environments.

10. Self-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions aligned with security and compliance standards.

Expected Salary:

For a Software QA Engineer at Qualys in Pune, the expected salary generally ranges between ₹7 LPA to ₹14 LPA, depending on experience, automation expertise, and cloud testing proficiency.
