Job Description

As a QA Test Specialist at Nasdaq, you will be a critical contributor to ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of advanced capital market technology solutions. This role is centered on validating complex systems related to Market Risk and Regulatory Risk within the Calypso Trading Solution. You will work at the intersection of finance and technology, applying rigorous testing methodologies to safeguard platforms that are used by global market participants. Your work will directly influence Nasdaq’s ability to deliver robust, compliant, and high-performing solutions to clients across international markets.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and global QA teams to understand detailed business and technical requirements. You will design comprehensive test cases, execute both manual and automated tests, and investigate failures to ensure defects are identified and resolved early in the delivery lifecycle. The position demands strong techno-functional expertise, enabling you to validate risk models, reports, and workflows that support critical financial decision-making.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure software quality and stability by analyzing requirement and specification documents and designing detailed, effective test cases.

  • Perform manual and automated testing activities to validate Market Risk and Regulatory Risk functionalities within trading platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to validate enhancements and client-requested improvements.

  • Execute end-to-end test scenarios, including regression, scenario-based testing, and stress testing for financial risk models.

  • Investigate and analyze failures in automated test executions, identifying root causes and supporting timely resolution.

  • Maintain and enhance a structured test library, ensuring traceability, reusability, and compliance with QA standards.

  • Validate complex risk reports such as Value-at-Risk (VaR) and Historical Simulation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Analyze portfolios across multiple risk factors including market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk.

  • Work independently in a techno-functional environment while coordinating with global teams across different time zones.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to testing processes and methodologies.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • 5–8 years of experience in Capital Markets testing, preferably in Market Risk or Regulatory Risk within a product company or investment bank.

  • Strong experience in analyzing portfolios with varied risk factors such as credit, liquidity, market, and operational risk.

  • In-depth understanding of financial risk reports including VaR, Historical Simulation, and underlying risk modeling techniques.

  • Hands-on experience in scenario testing and stress testing for financial risk models.

  • Exposure to trade capture processes for one or more asset classes.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex requirement and specification documents and design high-quality test cases independently.

  • Strong techno-functional skills with the ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments.

  • Educational background in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Business, Economics, or related disciplines.

  • Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle and familiarity with QA best practices.

  • Working understanding of databases, SQL, and test management tools such as Xray or Quality Center.
