Job Description:

Modulr is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in Pune to join its fast-growing fintech platform focused on embedded payments. In this role, you will work within cross-functional squads in a collaborative and agile environment, focusing on building and maintaining high-quality, reliable software. You will play a key role in designing automated testing strategies, enhancing test frameworks, and ensuring that applications meet stringent quality standards. The position involves working with APIs, payment systems, and distributed architectures, giving you exposure to real-world fintech challenges. You will also contribute to continuous delivery pipelines and help maintain a balance between speed and quality in software releases.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated testing strategies, covering functional, edge-case, and failure scenarios for applications.
• Develop and maintain automation test scripts and enhance existing test frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Review code changes to ensure proper test coverage and guide developers on improving testability of applications.
• Perform API testing for REST and SOAP services, ensuring reliability and performance of backend systems.
• Analyze test execution results and identify failure trends or capacity issues in deployed environments.
• Refactor existing tests to align with the test pyramid model, ensuring maintainability and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing approaches and ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Support triaging of test failures and production issues, applying problem-solving skills to identify root causes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in software testing and automation in Agile environments.
• Strong expertise in automated testing techniques and frameworks.
• Proficiency in Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience in API testing, including REST and SOAP services.
• Familiarity with BDD tools such as Cucumber or SpecFlow for behavior-driven development.
• Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks in collaborative team environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and deliver high-quality results.
• Knowledge of payment systems or financial technologies is an added advantage.
