Job Description

Mastercard is seeking a Test Automation Manager to lead a high-performing team of QA and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) working on Mastercard’s rapidly scaling Priceless Platform. In this role, you will be responsible for driving automation, reliability, and operational excellence across multiple projects that power digital commerce for banking partners globally.

You will be a hands-on leader, contributing to the design and implementation of automation frameworks, performance testing strategies, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines. Your team will focus on enabling reliability, observability, and faster release cycles while maintaining world-class security and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead a team of QA engineers: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of 5+ engineers focused on test automation and SRE practices.

• Hands-on contribution: Participate in functional automation, performance testing, mobile automation, and infrastructure automation.

• CI/CD integration: Build and maintain test automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines across multiple programming languages.

• Reliability engineering: Implement chaos engineering, progressive rollouts, monitoring, logging, and alerting for end-to-end observability.

• Performance & load testing: Shape platform scalability and reliability through load tests, stress tests, and performance benchmarking.

• Incident management: Develop playbooks for incident response, disaster recovery, and root-cause analysis for production issues.

• Collaboration & communication: Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to translate business requirements into testing strategies.

• Continuous improvement: Introduce emerging tools, best practices, and methodologies to improve test coverage, velocity, and code quality.

• On-call rotation: Participate in on-call support for critical production systems on a rotational basis.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Experience: Minimum 9+ years in software engineering, with strong focus on test automation, distributed system testing, and site reliability.

• Cloud expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation (IaC).

• Automation skills: Deep knowledge of automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test data management.

• DevOps & SRE practices: Familiarity with blue/green deployments, canary rollouts, feature flags, observability stacks, and reliability metrics.

• Programming & scripting: Ability to write clean, maintainable scripts to provision infrastructure and automate workflows.

• Leadership: Experience in mentoring, code reviews, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with global stakeholders.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.

The average salary for a Test Automation Manager at Mastercard in Pune typically ranges from ₹35–50 LPA, depending on experience, leadership ability, and expertise in automation and cloud technologies.
