Job Description

As an Operations Analyst – Automation at Johnson Controls, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT operations through intelligent automation. This position sits at the intersection of IT service management, automation engineering, and operational excellence. You will oversee infrastructure and application operations while driving automation initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve service reliability, and enhance business outcomes. Your work will directly support global IT services that enable Johnson Controls to deliver secure, sustainable, and intelligent solutions worldwide.

In this role, you will be deeply involved in incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring that operational issues are resolved within defined service levels and recurring problems are eliminated through automation-led solutions. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and the global Automation Center of Excellence to design, implement, and enhance automated workflows. Leveraging platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, ServiceNow, and Azure DevOps, you will help standardize operations and scale automation across critical business processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage incident and problem management activities, ensuring timely resolution of issues within defined SLAs.

  • Identify recurring incidents and implement automation-driven solutions to minimize service disruptions and downtime.

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, problems, and resolutions within centralized knowledge repositories.

  • Collaborate with problem management teams to conduct root cause analysis and drive proactive improvements.

  • Enforce standardized change management processes, including planning, testing, approval, implementation, and post-review.

  • Coordinate Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) to improve operational processes and service quality.

  • Participate in technology projects, providing operational and automation expertise during design and integration phases.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions using UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform to support business processes.

  • Use ServiceNow for ITSM and change tracking, and Azure DevOps for workload planning and execution.

  • Document automation configurations, best practices, and workflows to ensure scalability and reusability.

  • Collaborate with global teams and third-party partners to implement and support automation solutions.

  • Continuously upskill through certifications and self-learning in automation, AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as UiPath and/or Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented concepts and low-code/no-code development principles.

  • Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve automation or code-related issues in production environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on operational efficiency and automation excellence.

  • Self-motivated, action-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in collaborative global teams.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with business-level proficiency in English.

  • Familiarity with React, Python, or .NET is preferred for advanced automation and integration use cases.

  • General knowledge of Windows Server environments, networking fundamentals, and system troubleshooting techniques.

  • Working understanding of SQL Server for data handling, validation, and automation logic.

  • Educational background or experience in IT, Networking, Programming, Automation, or Cybernetics is highly suitable.
