Job Description

The Software Test Analyst role at FIS is a critical position within the Product Development organization, focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of fintech solutions that power global banking, payments, and investment systems. In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation financial platforms by validating complex software systems and ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy, scalability, and security. Your work will directly support products that are used by financial institutions across the world.

You will be part of the Prophet team, working on a greenfield SaaS platform used by insurance and financial services organizations for accounting and risk management. The role blends strong manual testing expertise with exposure to automation and modern testing tools. You will collaborate within multinational Agile Scrum teams, contributing to continuous quality improvement while supporting fast-paced product development cycles in a highly regulated domain.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance manual and automated test scripts, utilities, datasets, and test tools to support comprehensive test plans.

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and usability testing to validate system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, validating REST and SOAP services with JSON-based responses.

• Validate backend data by writing complex SQL queries against relational databases for data accuracy and consistency checks.

• Communicate testing progress, risks, and findings clearly through written reports and verbal discussions with stakeholders.

• Manage daily testing activities independently while aligning with sprint goals and delivery timelines.

• Provide internal quality assurance by ensuring adherence to defined testing standards and best practices.

• Support the test lead in identifying project risks and defining mitigation strategies early in the lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to analyze defects, support root-cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.

• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to improve overall delivery quality.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with work experience given higher weight than formal education.

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing within enterprise or product-based environments.

• Strong expertise in manual testing concepts, test case design, defect management, and test documentation.

• Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman and working knowledge of REST, SOAP, and JSON.

• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to write complex queries for validation and troubleshooting.

• Exposure to automation testing concepts and tools, with willingness to grow in automation frameworks.

• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience working in sprint-based delivery models.

• Understanding of object-oriented concepts and familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Self-motivated mindset with the ability to deliver quality results under pressure and adapt quickly to new tools and technologies.
