Job Description

As a Software Test Analyst – Manual & Automation Testing at FIS, you will be an integral part of building next-generation fintech products that power how the world pays, banks, and invests. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality software delivery through rigorous manual testing practices while gradually contributing to automation initiatives. You will work closely with development, product, and Scrum teams to validate functionality, reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise-grade financial platforms. Your efforts will directly impact the stability and trustworthiness of solutions used by global financial institutions.

You will join the Prophet product team, which is working on a greenfield SaaS platform for accounting and risk management in the insurance domain. The role demands strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex requirements into effective test scenarios. By performing API testing, database validation, and usability testing, you will help ensure that the product meets both business and regulatory expectations. Your work will contribute to defect prevention, improved release quality, and reduced production risk.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed manual test cases aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.

• Perform API testing using tools like Postman to validate REST and SOAP services and ensure data integrity.

• Conduct usability testing to assess system performance, reliability, scalability, and security aspects.

• Validate backend data by writing and executing complex SQL queries on relational databases.

• Communicate testing activities, defects, risks, and outcomes clearly through test reports and discussions.

• Manage and prioritize daily testing activities to meet sprint and release timelines.

• Provide internal quality assurance by ensuring adherence to defined testing standards and processes.

• Support the test lead in identifying quality risks and developing mitigation strategies early in the lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with developers and Scrum teams to clarify requirements and resolve defects efficiently.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and documentation.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in manual testing within enterprise or product-based environments.

• Strong expertise in manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, and system testing.

• Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman and working with REST/SOAP and JSON.

• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to write complex queries for data validation.

• Understanding of software testing methodologies, defect life cycle, and quality management practices.

• Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts; hands-on automation exposure is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and working in sprint-based delivery models.

• Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into clear, well-structured test cases and documents.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to learn new tools and emerging testing technologies.
