Job Description:

EPAM Systems, a global leader in digital platform engineering and software development, is seeking a Senior Java Automation Test Engineer to join its dynamic Pune team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing acceptance and integration test automation scripts, integrating them into Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins or Bamboo, and ensuring the reliability and quality of web and API applications. This role is crucial for maintaining high-quality software releases, enabling EPAM’s clients across the globe to deliver seamless and efficient digital solutions.

As a Senior Java Automation Test Engineer, you will oversee multiple testing initiatives, ensuring automation frameworks are scalable, reusable, and optimized for both web and API testing. You will guide a team of test engineers, participate in test planning, estimations, and collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor a team of Test Engineers to achieve project objectives.

• Develop acceptance and integration test automation scripts and integrate them into CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.

• Create and maintain automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and JBehave.

• Conduct web application testing, covering JS, HTML, and CSS, ensuring compatibility and usability.

• Perform API testing, including REST services, using tools like Soap UI, Postman, and Fiddler.

• Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure testing aligns with development cycles and sprint goals.

• Assist in test planning, estimations, and strategy creation for complex automation initiatives.

• Perform functional, usability, accessibility, regression, and documentation testing to maintain software quality.

• Monitor and improve test coverage, efficiency, and automation processes across multiple projects.

• Analyze and troubleshoot test results, providing detailed reports for developers and stakeholders.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• 6–9 years of professional experience in Core Java and Selenium.

• Strong knowledge of the Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and test automation principles.

• Expertise in API testing, BDD frameworks (Cucumber/JBehave), and automation frameworks.

• Experience in building and maintaining test frameworks using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Soap UI, REST, JSON, XML, Eclipse IDE.

• Competency in functional, usability, compatibility, accessibility, regression, and documentation testing.

• Proficiency in web technologies including JS, HTML, and CSS.

• Knowledge of SQL, XML, JSON, and tools commonly used in testing such as Postman and HP ALM.

• Strong communication skills in English (B2+ level) and ability to collaborate effectively in Agile teams.

• Nice to have: experience with Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD integration, client-server architecture understanding, and advanced API testing skills.

A Senior Java Automation Test Engineer in India at EPAM typically earns between ₹15 LPA and ₹25 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and project responsibilities.
