As a QA Lead at Merkle, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all software solutions meet client requirements and adhere to the highest quality standards. This position focuses on leading and optimizing testing initiatives across the entire software development lifecycle. By leveraging both manual and automated testing techniques, you will ensure that every release is robust, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining software excellence, improving test efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

In this role, you will oversee full-stack testing, covering front-end interfaces, back-end logic, APIs, and databases. You will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies that integrate with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. By coordinating with cross-functional teams, you will identify potential issues early, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless deployment. Your guidance will enable the QA team to adopt modern testing frameworks, automation tools, and best practices, enhancing overall product quality and client satisfaction.

The QA Lead will also mentor and manage both in-house and outsourced QA teams across multiple time zones. You will be instrumental in fostering an Agile and collaborative testing environment, ensuring continuous improvement in testing processes and delivering measurable quality outcomes. Your role will directly influence the success of software initiatives, promoting innovation while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and client expectations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end QA efforts for full-stack applications, including front-end, back-end, API, and database testing.

• Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and automated test scripts to ensure robust software quality.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify defects early and optimize the testing process.

• Mentor and manage QA team members, including outsourced teams across different time zones.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.

• Conduct performance, load, and security testing to identify system bottlenecks and vulnerabilities.

• Ensure proper documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports for audit and compliance purposes.

• Collaborate with product owners and developers to align QA efforts with business requirements.

• Stay updated on emerging QA methodologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the testing process.

• Drive adoption of modern test automation frameworks, BDD tools, and cloud-based testing environments.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in software QA roles with at least 2 years leading QA efforts for full-stack applications.

• Strong expertise in QA methodologies, including manual and automated testing.

• Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

• Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman and RestAssured.

• Familiarity with CI/CD integration, version control (Git), and Agile/Scrum development processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to document and report defects clearly.

• Experience managing outsourced QA teams and coordinating across multiple time zones.

• Certifications like ISTQB or Certified Agile Tester are a plus.

• Knowledge of performance testing (JMeter, Gatling), security testing fundamentals, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.

Expected Salary:
The expected salary for a QA Lead in Pune ranges from ₹15,00,000 to ₹25,00,000 per annum, depending on experience, skill set, and certifications. Candidates with strong automation and DevOps-aligned QA experience may command higher compensation.
