Job Description

We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer – Mobile App for a Great Place to Work® certified multinational client. This role focuses entirely on automation testing, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy building robust test frameworks and eliminating repetitive manual work. You will spend most of your time automating mobile app test cases using Appium while also contributing to web automation efforts with Selenium. Your contributions will directly impact the speed, quality, and reliability of product releases across both mobile and web platforms.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will participate in the full QA lifecycle – from planning to defect triage and release validation. You will write clean, maintainable automation scripts, integrate them with CI/CD pipelines, and ensure every defect is tracked, retested, and resolved. Working alongside developers, product managers, and geographically distributed teams, you will play a crucial role in delivering seamless user experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test cases for mobile applications using Appium, ensuring maximum coverage of functionality and regression scenarios.

• Contribute to web automation efforts using Selenium for the remaining scope of projects.

• Build automation frameworks from scratch, selecting the right tools and approaches based on project requirements.

• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable scripts using JavaScript or TypeScript to ensure long-term scalability.

• Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to align test plans with business needs.

• Maintain code repositories in Git, ensuring proper version control and code quality standards.

• Participate in defect triage meetings, review and retest defects, and ensure timely resolution before product release.

• Provide guidance to junior team members and lead smaller projects independently.

• Continuously research and recommend improvements in testing practices, tools, and processes.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• 6–10 years of hands-on experience in automation testing for web and mobile applications.

• Strong expertise in Appium for mobile automation testing and Selenium for web automation.

• Proficiency in JavaScript (preferred) or TypeScript for writing automation scripts.

• Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch and maintaining them over time.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems such as Git.

• Strong knowledge of defect management tools and ability to participate in triage processes effectively.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills to handle competing priorities.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with technical and business teams.

• Industry certifications (e.g., ISTQB) and experience with SOX compliance are an added advantage.

Expected Salary

For a QA Automation Engineer (Mobile App) with 6–10 years of experience in Pune, salaries generally range between ₹12–20 LPA, depending on skills, depth of automation experience, and expertise in CI/CD and framework design. Candidates with extensive Appium and JavaScript/TypeScript expertise may receive compensation at the higher end of this range.
