Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Monitoring and Testing Analyst at Citi, you will play a critical role in strengthening the firm’s risk management and control governance framework. This position sits within the Controls Governance & Oversight function and focuses on evaluating whether business activities, processes, and controls operate in line with Citi’s risk policies, regulatory expectations, and internal standards. Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding Citi’s reputation, assets, and clients by ensuring risks are identified early and mitigated effectively through robust monitoring and testing practices.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing control design and operational effectiveness across multiple business processes. You will support end-to-end monitoring activities aligned with Citi’s Risk Management policies and ARCM (Activity, Risk, Control & Monitoring) framework. By executing structured monitoring and testing procedures, analyzing outcomes, and identifying control gaps, you will help improve control performance and drive sustainable remediation across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support monitoring and testing reviews to assess adherence to Citi’s Risk & Control framework and ARCM principles.

• Perform end-to-end monitoring of key controls defined under Citi’s Risk Management policies.

• Participate in Control & Monitoring Design Assessment (CMDA) discussions and assist in drafting procedures and documentation.

• Analyze control performance and identify monitoring breaks, gaps, or weaknesses requiring remediation.

• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of reports for control tracking, analysis, and management reporting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and develop practical, sustainable control solutions.

• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving control effectiveness and process maturity.

• Participate in leadership and governance meetings to review documentation, workflows, and risk coverage.

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards in all activities.

• Escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently while supporting accountability and effective supervision.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or control-related roles within financial services.

• Strong understanding of risk identification, measurement, and control assessment methodologies.

• Hands-on experience in designing, executing, and evaluating monitoring and testing activities for controls.

• Solid knowledge of compliance laws, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

• Familiarity with Citi’s policies, standards, and procedures or similar large-scale financial institution frameworks.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex processes, risks, and control environments.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior management.

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in high-stakes, regulated environments.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
