Job Overview:

As an Officer – ETL Automation Tester with SQL at Citi, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Citi’s data processing systems. Your primary responsibility will be to validate data transformations, quality, and integrity throughout the ETL pipelines. Collaborating closely with developers, data engineers, and product owners, you will create detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports to ensure that data processing meets the highest standards.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SQL to write complex queries for back-end testing of databases. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the automation testing framework by staying updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. ETL Testing: Validate data transformations, data quality, and data integrity throughout the ETL pipelines.

2. SQL Expertise: Write complex SQL queries to verify data correctness and perform thorough back-end testing of databases.

3. Test Planning & Execution: Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports. Perform both functional and non-functional testing.

4. Defect Tracking: Identify, log, and track defects in collaboration with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

5. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, data engineers, and product owners to understand requirements and improve overall product quality.

6. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices to enhance the automation testing framework.

7. Compliance & Risk Management: Appropriately assess risks when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi's clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Experience: 4–8 years of hands-on experience in ETL Automation Testing.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Proficiency in SQL for writing complex queries and performing back-end testing.

   • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

   • Familiarity with BI visualization tools like Tableau is a plus.

3. Testing Skills:

   • Strong understanding of test planning, test case creation, and test execution.

   • Experience in both functional and non-functional testing.

   • Knowledge of defect tracking and resolution processes.

4. Collaboration Skills:

   • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and improve product quality.

   • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers, data engineers, and product owners.

5. Continuous Improvement:

   • Commitment to staying updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.

   • Proactive in identifying areas for improvement in the automation testing framework.
