Barclays – Test Engineer – AVP

🚀 Job Description:

🎯 Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test plans and automation strategies.

• Execute and maintain automated test scripts using modern frameworks and tools.

• Investigate issues in production and UAT environments, particularly for FX automation platforms like NetFx and Resilient Pricing Engine.

• Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams for swift resolution.

• Utilize Linux environments to inspect logs and support system troubleshooting.

• Write and run complex SQL queries for data validation and issue investigation.

• Communicate effectively with global teams (India, US) to track and solve defects.

• Manage application releases, support environments, and ensure testing coverage in each cycle.

• Proactively suggest improvements and automate repetitive tasks using Perl or Python.

• Ensure systems meet infra setup requirements (e.g., routers, firewalls, tiered architecture).

🛠 Required Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in QA/testing and banking/fintech domains.

• Proficiency with Linux/Unix commands and server-side log analysis.

• Solid experience in REST API testing and test case execution.

• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and validation.

• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, Code Quality tools).

• Experience with test automation frameworks in Java/Python/Perl.

• Working knowledge of infrastructure, networking setups, and system architecture.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

• Agile, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Experience in investment banking applications and real-time systems.

• Knowledge of FX systems or trading platforms.

• Exposure to performance engineering or release management.

• Project ownership or team leadership experience in testing-related initiatives.

💰 Salary Expectations:
Based on AVP-level roles in Pune at Barclays and market data, expected salary range is:
₹25,00,000 to ₹40,00,000 per annum depending on your experience, automation depth, and domain expertise.
