Barclays is seeking a highly skilled QA Test Engineer to join its Markets Pre-Trade Technology team in Pune. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute test strategies that validate the performance, functionality, and reliability of critical financial applications. Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.

• Create, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts to ensure early defect detection and continuous quality improvements.

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to analyze requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure alignment on quality expectations.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across complex trading and pricing systems.

• Diagnose, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA, providing detailed documentation for quick resolution.

• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and work closely with developers to ensure issues are resolved before release.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automation tests, improving overall release cycles.

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging QA technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance testing processes.

• Participate in code reviews and peer collaboration to promote knowledge sharing and a culture of technical excellence.

• Support risk management and governance activities by ensuring compliance with Barclays’ quality standards and controls.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Strong experience in functional testing of complex systems, preferably in pricing or algorithmic trading environments.

• Hands-on experience in writing, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.

• Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Shell for automation.

• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and a solid understanding of data validation techniques.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect management tools like JIRA.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing complex test environment issues.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of electronic trading systems and investment banking processes is a strong plus.

• Industry certifications (ISTQB, CSTE) are desirable but not mandatory.
