Roles & Responsibilities

  • Execute data cleansing, transformation, and validation tasks to prepare structured datasets for analysis and reporting.

  • Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines to automate data flows across business systems.

  • Apply advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI models, to solve complex business challenges.

  • Produce detailed documentation on data processes, findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet regulatory and compliance requirements within the banking domain.

  • Collaborate across multiple teams to align data practices with Barclays’ governance and risk frameworks.

  • For leadership roles, set team objectives, coach and mentor analysts, and assess performance relative to defined goals.

  • Communicate complex data insights effectively, tailoring the messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and automation that enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and strengthen data-driven decision-making.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and relational database management.

  • Experience with Snowflake and Teradata BTeq scripting for large-scale data analysis.

  • Solid understanding of the banking and financial services domain, particularly regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks, lineage tracking, and governance controls.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent) is highly valued.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to apply critical thinking and pattern recognition in data problem-solving.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to interact with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.

  • Experience in handling UK regulatory frameworks or global compliance processes is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
