Job Description

Randstad India’s client is seeking a highly motivated Automation Test Engineer (SDET) to join their Agile/Scrum team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing robust automation test suites for both UI and API layers, ensuring top-quality software delivery in fast-paced product environments.

The SDET will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA peers to define and maintain automation frameworks, execute test plans, and ensure all new features and regression cases are thoroughly validated before release. Candidates with strong Java, Selenium, and REST Assured expertise will find this role both technically challenging and career-advancing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium.

• Work in Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-quality, tested software features each sprint.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium, Appium, TestNG, and REST Assured.

• Perform UI and API testing, create and manage comprehensive test suites, and ensure end-to-end test coverage.

• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and back-end operations.

• Utilize tools such as Postman, Maven, Git, and Jenkins for CI/CD integration and automation pipeline support.

• Participate in code reviews, defect triage, and release readiness activities.

• Document and track issues in JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and validation.

• Support production deployments occasionally, including weekend/night production support (1–2 times per month).

• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure QA best practices and continuous process improvements.

Requirements & Eligibility

Essential Skills:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a QA Automation Engineer or SDET.

• Strong experience in Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG framework.

• Good knowledge of automation frameworks and automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, and REST Assured.

• Solid understanding of API automation testing (manual + automated).

• Proficient in SQL scripting and database testing.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, DevOps concepts, and version control systems (Git).

• Experience working with JIRA or similar Agile project management tools.

• Excellent understanding of software QA principles, STLC, and Agile testing practices.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience with AWS cloud environments.

• Knowledge of Performance or Load testing tools.

• Experience with Postman for RESTful API testing.

• Exposure to Maven build management and CI/CD integration using Jenkins or similar tools.

• Flexibility to support production testing during off-hours, when required.

Expected Salary

The expected pay range for this contract position in Pune is ₹10,00,000 – ₹15,00,000 per annum, depending on experience and technical expertise. Immediate joiners and candidates with strong DevOps and REST Assured automation skills may receive higher compensation.
