Job Description

Amdocs is seeking a skilled and experienced Non-Functional (NF) Test Specialist to join its performance engineering team in Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, stability, reliability, scalability, and high availability of Amdocs products. As a NF Test Specialist, you will work across modern cloud-native, container-based, and distributed software architectures to validate system behavior under expected and extreme workloads.

This role is a key contributor to delivering high-quality telecom and digital experience platforms that serve millions of end users. You will collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and product owners to design performance test strategies, build automation, analyze system behavior, and recommend improvements. The position requires deep technical expertise in non-functional testing methodologies, tools, infrastructure, and performance monitoring technologies. Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and execute comprehensive non-functional test strategies covering performance, load, scalability, stability, and high availability metrics.

• Perform code profiling, tuning, test design, execution, and analysis to identify performance gaps and system bottlenecks.

• Simulate real-world workloads and develop customized tools or programs to support performance testing activities.

• Analyze server performance counters, OS logs, and application performance insights to diagnose performance issues and conduct root cause analysis.

• Work closely with architects, developers, and performance experts to recommend design and implementation enhancements for improved system efficiency.

• Participate in reviews with technical stakeholders to present performance findings and propose optimizations.

• Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure performance best practices are embedded across development and deployment phases.

• Lead and contribute to performance engineering initiatives under tight project timelines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Support cloud and container-based performance testing, including microservices, distributed services, and network-layer evaluations.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Performance Engineer or NF Test Specialist.

• Hands-on expertise with:

  • Performance Tools: LoadRunner, JMeter, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, HP Diagnostics

  • Cloud & Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, VMware, AWS/Azure/GCP

  • Tech Stack & Protocols: REST, SOAP, JSON, NoSQL (Couchbase), Kafka, SQL, Microservices, WebLogic

  • Monitoring Tools: ELK Stack (Kibana/ElasticSearch), Grafana

  • Version Control & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins

• Strong Linux proficiency, including system process monitoring and scripting (Perl/KSH/Bash).

• Experience in non-functional testing methodologies, performance tuning, and code profiling.

• Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify root causes of performance issues.

• Experience with network protocols, storage concepts, and sniffer tools is beneficial.

• Desired: Python knowledge, telecom domain experience, and familiarity with M2E modeled API services.
