Job Description

As an Automation Tester at Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS), you will be part of the Business Quality Assurance (BQA) function, contributing to the delivery of high-quality technology solutions within a global telecom environment. This role emphasizes strong fundamentals in software testing with a practical focus on manual validation, quality governance, and close collaboration with stakeholders. You will help ensure that Vodafone’s applications and platforms meet defined quality standards while supporting business outcomes across large-scale telco operations.

In this role, you will apply structured testing principles across the Software Testing Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle, validating functionality, usability, and process adherence. You will work within Agile teams, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies and coordinating with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include defect tracking, test execution, and ensuring traceability of testing activities using industry-standard tools. The role is well-suited for professionals who are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced delivery environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Apply software testing principles and methodologies to validate product quality across telco applications and platforms.

• Execute manual testing activities including functional, regression, and system testing to ensure business requirements are met.

• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and align testing outcomes.

• Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution.

• Maintain test artifacts and support test lifecycle management using tools like Jira and Confluence.

• Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Manage individual testing responsibilities while supporting overall team delivery goals and timelines.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to communicate testing status, risks, and quality outcomes effectively.

• Ensure adherence to defined quality standards, processes, and delivery guidelines within the BQA function.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and collaboration models within the team.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software testing roles.

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Hands-on experience with manual testing techniques and structured test execution.

• Prior exposure to the telecom (Telco) domain, with an understanding of related applications and workflows.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum-based delivery teams.

• Practical experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment.

• Strong stakeholder management and coordination capabilities to align quality outcomes with business goals.
