Job Description:

MSCI is seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior QA Automation Engineer to join its Private Capital Solutions (PCS) team in Mumbai. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and technology, ensuring the highest standards of software quality across complex investment analytics and dashboard solutions. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering reliable, secure, and performance-optimized software by leveraging modern automation frameworks and continuous integration practices.

In this position, you will work closely with developers, product owners, and analysts to create scalable test automation strategies and frameworks using Playwright, Azure DevOps, and JMeter. Your contribution will be key in validating end-to-end functionality across APIs, dashboards, and investment modules, ensuring seamless user experiences. You’ll lead automation initiatives, design test coverage strategies, and participate in agile ceremonies to align testing deliverables with business goals. MSCI provides an environment where innovation, technical leadership, and collaboration are valued at every stage.

Beyond hands-on testing, this role positions you as a quality champion within the PCS team — mentoring junior QA engineers, driving efficiency improvements, and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability. MSCI’s hybrid work model, inclusive culture, and strong focus on learning make it the ideal platform for ambitious professionals looking to grow in both automation engineering and financial technology domains.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation test scripts using Playwright with the Page Object Model (POM) for maintainable and reusable code structures.

  • Create and maintain automation frameworks for both UI and API validation, ensuring high-quality testing standards.

  • Integrate automation test suites with Azure DevOps pipelines, leveraging YAML configurations to enable CI/CD-driven test execution.

  • Conduct manual, regression, and exploratory testing to validate workflows, entitlement access, and data integrity across dashboards.

  • Implement performance testing using JMeter to evaluate system response times, throughput, and scalability under various load conditions.

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and analysts to align QA deliverables with release priorities and sprint goals.

  • Debug and optimize automation scripts, refining selector logic and improving efficiency using AI-assisted tools where applicable.

  • Document test results, track defects in JIRA, and ensure clear communication across cross-functional teams for timely issue resolution.

  • Mentor junior QA team members, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices in quality engineering.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and implementing new automation strategies to enhance overall coverage.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline.

  • 8–9 years of professional experience in manual, automation, and performance testing, preferably within financial services or analytics domains.

  • Hands-on expertise in Playwright (preferred), or similar tools such as Selenium and Cypress for automation testing.

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, REST API validation, and automation scripting frameworks.

  • Experience in Azure DevOps pipelines (YAML-based) for CI/CD integration and automated test orchestration.

  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as JavaScript or Groovy for data validation and automation tasks.

  • Familiarity with Apache JMeter for performance testing and analyzing metrics like latency, throughput, and error rates.

  • Practical understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.

  • Knowledge of the Private Capital, Investments, or Portfolio Analytics domain is highly advantageous.

Expected Salary:

For the Senior QA Automation Engineer role at MSCI in Mumbai, the expected compensation typically ranges from ₹18 LPA to ₹28 LPA, depending on experience, skill specialization, and technical proficiency. Senior professionals with advanced automation and performance testing experience may receive higher packages. In addition to base pay, MSCI offers comprehensive benefits including flexible work arrangements, wellness programs, and global learning opportunities.
