Job Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director – Business Data Analytics to join its Wealth Management Technology division. In this leadership role, you will spearhead data-driven initiatives that enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and unlock business value across Wealth Management. As part of the Analytics, Intelligence & Data Technology (AIDT) team, you will influence enterprise-level data strategy, shape analytics solutions, and partner closely with senior stakeholders to deliver business transformation powered by data.

This role demands a unique blend of business acumen, data expertise, and stakeholder leadership, enabling you to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into scalable analytics systems. You will oversee the development of high-impact data models, frameworks, and dashboards, ensuring statistical accuracy, operational efficiency, and alignment with business goals. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end requirements gathering by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, architecture, QA, product owners, and subject matter experts.

  • Develop and optimize data collection systems, analytics platforms, and databases to support robust data-driven strategies and improve statistical accuracy.

  • Partner with leadership to define business problems, design analytical models, and implement data-backed solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Acquire, integrate, and manage data from multiple internal and external sources to support high-quality analytics and reporting.

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic business decisions.

  • Prioritize business information needs and ensure timely delivery of value-driven analytics dashboards, reports, and recommendations.

  • Identify gaps in current processes and implement improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, automation, and standardization.

  • Serve as a key liaison across business and technology teams, ensuring strong alignment between analytics solutions and organizational objectives.

  • Maintain governance and data quality standards while promoting analytics best practices across teams.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Business Data Analyst or Data Analytics leader, ideally within BFSI or Wealth Management domains.

  • Strong understanding of Wealth Management processes, including new account opening, KYC, client onboarding, and regulatory compliance.

  • Expertise in analyzing complex, data-driven applications and creating insights that influence business decisions.

  • Proficiency with SQL, BigQuery, data modelling, visualization tools, and statistical methods.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, critical thinking ability, and experience delivering under pressure with multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated leadership in developing data strategies, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Project management experience with the ability to deliver strategic and fast-paced initiatives at scale.


Expected Salary

Director-level roles in Data Analytics at Morgan Stanley in Mumbai typically range from ₹55 – ₹90 LPA, depending on expertise, BFSI domain exposure, global stakeholder management experience, and data strategy leadership capabilities.
