Job Description:

BNP Paribas India Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA, is looking for a skilled Data Analyst (Python & Power BI) to join its IHC IT Transversal team in Mumbai. The role involves working with large data sets, building analytical models, and designing insightful Power BI dashboards to support data-driven decision-making across multiple business lines. As a Data Analyst, you’ll collaborate with global teams, helping to improve data accuracy, streamline reporting, and enhance business intelligence across the bank’s Corporate and Institutional Banking operations.

This position plays a key role in BNP Paribas’ ongoing digital transformation. You’ll be responsible for analyzing functional and data gaps, creating relational data models, and coordinating with techno-functional teams to deliver precise, actionable insights. You will also contribute to the automation of data processes using Python, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in monthly reporting and reconciliations. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Analyze large and complex data sets to identify data quality issues, functional gaps, and opportunities for process optimization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to discuss, validate, and document functional and data-related requirements in a concise, structured manner.

• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports using Power Query and DAX to provide actionable insights to business leaders.

• Coordinate with techno-functional teams to define business logic and ensure accurate data creation for reporting requirements.

• Conduct month-end data reconciliations and variance analyses between source systems and tactical adjustments.

• Develop test cases to validate reporting logic, ensuring the integrity and consistency of analytical outputs.

• Partner with onshore leads to present analytical findings, share knowledge, and provide training when necessary.

• Prepare detailed project documentation, status reports, and process notes aligned with internal quality standards.

• Perform knowledge transfer and cross-training activities to ensure seamless team collaboration and backup coverage.

• Contribute to BNP Paribas’ data transformation initiatives by implementing best practices in data visualization, governance, and automation.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in Power BI — including Power Query, DAX expressions, and building interactive dashboards.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data relationships, and ETL workflows.

  • Working knowledge of Python for automation, data cleaning, and analysis.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, MS Project, and Visio for documentation and reporting.

• Analytical Ability: Ability to translate data findings into actionable business insights; skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills for interacting with global stakeholders.

• Behavioral Competencies: Adaptability, teamwork, active listening, and a proactive approach to solving business challenges.

• Preferred Experience: Exposure to banking or financial domain analytics, especially within digital transformation or data governance teams.

• Attitude: Self-starter with curiosity, enthusiasm, and the ability to think beyond traditional frameworks to drive innovation.
