Position Overview:

As a Software Engineer at Zelis, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that support the healthcare financial ecosystem in the United States. This position offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across engineering, product management, and data science to deliver high-performance, secure, and compliant solutions in a mission-critical industry.

Your role will directly contribute to improving healthcare transparency and affordability through technology-driven innovation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications for healthcare payment and analytics systems.

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA teams to define and refine technical requirements.

• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code while following industry best practices and security standards.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions on architecture and design improvements.

• Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to healthcare and fintech software development.

• Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 1–4 years of professional experience in software development.

• Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in one or more of the following — Java, C#, Python, or Node.js.

• Frameworks: Experience with .NET Core, Spring Boot, or microservices architecture preferred.

• Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).

• DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.

• Front-End (Optional): Exposure to modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and effective communication abilities.
