As a Performance Testing – Senior QA Engineer at Virtusa, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability and performance of Virtusa’s software applications. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and execute comprehensive performance test strategies, encompassing both load and stress testing, to validate software functionalities under varying user loads and conditions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Performance Test Planning & Strategy: Develop detailed performance test plans and strategies, covering load, stress, endurance, and spike testing aspects.

2. Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated performance test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.

3. Manual Testing: Perform manual performance testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure the application meets performance requirements.

4. Cross-Platform Testing: Validate software applications across various platforms and devices to ensure consistent performance.

5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on performance aspects.

6. Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track performance-related defects using appropriate tools, ensuring timely resolution.

7. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest performance testing tools, methodologies, and best practices to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements & Eligibility:

1. Experience: 5–9 years of experience in performance engineering, with a focus on load and stress testing.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Proficiency in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, or NeoLoad.

   • Strong understanding of software application architectures and performance testing methodologies.

   • Experience with scripting languages and test automation tools.

3. Database Skills:

   • Proficiency in designing and executing SQL queries for performance testing.

   • Experience with performance monitoring of database servers.

4. Testing Skills:

   • Strong understanding of test planning, test case creation, and test execution.

   • Experience in both functional and non-functional testing.

   • Knowledge of defect tracking and resolution processes.

5. Collaboration Skills:

   • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and improve product quality.

   • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts.

6. Continuous Improvement:

   • Commitment to staying updated with the latest performance testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.

   • Proactive in identifying areas for improvement in the performance testing framework.
