Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand user needs and define technical requirements for new product features.

• Contribute to design documentation, evaluate dependencies, and support planning for feature development under mentorship.

• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code across languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript while following engineering best practices.

• Break down development work into smaller tasks, estimate effort, and deliver code aligned with sprint goals and timelines.

• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for assigned services or features by monitoring system health, investigating performance issues, and supporting service recovery during incidents.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product availability, reliability, scalability, and observability across cloud services.

• Learn and apply modern engineering principles including automation, DevOps, cloud-native development, and secure coding standards.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and leverage new tools and techniques to drive innovation and consistency in cloud operations.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on software engineering experience.

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.

• Strong foundational understanding of computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.

• Willingness to learn distributed systems, cloud computing, and scalable service architectures.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, communicate effectively, and contribute to technical discussions.

• Must successfully pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check upon hiring and every two years thereafter.

• Preferred: 1+ year of engineering experience or a Master’s degree in a technical field with strong coding background.
