HSBC – Automation Testing Consultant Specialist (Selenium)

HSBC is seeking a highly skilled Automation Testing Consultant Specialist to join its Hyderabad technology team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that HSBC’s mission-critical applications meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and functionality. You will be responsible for both functional and non-functional testing, including database testing, performance, and user acceptance testing. Your work will ensure that systems operate efficiently under heavy loads, transactions are seamless, and business objectives are consistently met. As an Automation Testing Consultant Specialist, you will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Maven, and TestNG. You will also develop performance test scripts using LoadRunner or JMeter to monitor web services and microservices. By leveraging tools like AppDynamics, Jenkins, and GitHub, you will analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements. Your contributions will enhance software quality, optimize performance, and ensure that applications scale effectively to meet business demands.

This role requires a thorough understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and the hierarchy of requirements including epics, user stories, and tasks. You will collaborate closely with development teams to create and execute comprehensive test strategies, validate critical functionalities, and provide actionable insights from test results. By maintaining high-quality standards and implementing best practices for automation and performance testing, you will ensure HSBC’s software solutions deliver exceptional value to clients and internal stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Maven, and TestNG for web applications.

• Conduct functional, system, regression, database, and UAT testing to validate software quality across the SDLC.

• Develop performance test scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter, monitor services, and identify areas for improvement.

• Analyze system performance using AppDynamics and provide recommendations to enhance response time and resource utilization.

• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure thorough test coverage and seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines.

• Validate non-functional requirements including system architecture, resource consumption, and scalability under load.

• Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test results, defects, and performance metrics for audit and compliance purposes.

• Ensure continuous improvement of QA practices and implement best practices in automation and performance testing.

• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior QA team members to enhance overall team capability.

• Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in software QA, with strong expertise in automation, performance, and manual testing.

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Maven, and TestNG.

• Proficiency in developing automated test scripts, executing test cases, and creating test data.

• Experience with database testing, web application testing, system, functional, and regression testing.

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), SDLC, and STLC processes.

• 2–3 years of experience in performance testing of mission-critical applications.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Jenkins, and performance monitoring tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to report and resolve defects effectively.

• Ability to understand the hierarchy of requirements, including epics, user stories, and tasks.

• Commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, and adoption of emerging QA practices.

Expected Salary:
The expected salary for an Automation Testing Consultant Specialist in Hyderabad ranges from ₹14,00,000 to ₹22,00,000 per annum, depending on experience, technical proficiency, and exposure to automation and performance testing tools. Highly experienced professionals with extensive Selenium and LoadRunner/JMeter expertise may command higher compensation.
