Job Description
EY is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer (Specialist I) to join its Technology Consulting division in Hyderabad. The role involves executing comprehensive testing strategies across multiple layers of applications, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. The QA Engineer will translate business requirements into detailed test scripts, validate system outputs, and ensure that applications meet both technical and user experience standards. By working closely with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders, the candidate will identify defects, analyze test data, and contribute to improving software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
In addition to testing execution, the role emphasizes continuous improvement and proactive quality assurance. The QA Engineer will participate in design reviews, suggest enhancements to testing processes, and contribute to building robust QA standards. Roles & Responsibilities

Design and execute test cases based on functional requirements and technical specifications.

Perform manual and automated testing including functional, regression, performance, and accessibility testing.

Analyze test data and identify discrepancies between expected and actual results.

Develop and maintain test scripts and contribute to automation testing strategies.

Execute end-to-end testing and exploratory testing to ensure application quality.

Document defects, track issues, and recommend improvements to enhance system performance.

Participate in design reviews to identify potential quality risks early in the development cycle.

Prepare detailed test reports including findings, usability concerns, and recommendations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
Requirements & Eligibility

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.

Minimum 3 years of experience in software quality assurance with exposure to both manual and automation testing.

Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies.

Experience in functional, regression, performance, and accessibility testing.

Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber.

Knowledge of defect tracking tools such as JIRA and collaboration tools like Confluence.

Basic understanding of programming concepts and technologies such as Java, Angular, Node.js, or SQL.

Experience working in Agile environments with sprint-based development cycles.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to adapt to changing environments and work effectively with global teams.

The average salary for a Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of experience in India typically ranges between ₹8 LPA to ₹18 LPA, depending on expertise in automation, domain knowledge, and consulting experience.
