Job Description

As an Associate within EY’s National TAX – ITTS (International Tax and Transaction Services) team, you will be part of a highly collaborative group supporting clients in navigating complex tax policies, global regulatory requirements, and rapidly evolving compliance environments. EY’s Tax Policy & Controversy practice helps organizations understand government tax regulations, anticipate policy changes, and make informed decisions that reduce risk while maximizing business value. In this role, you will contribute to insightful research, financial review, analytical reporting, and advisory support that strengthens clients’ tax strategy and operational efficiency across industries.

You will also work on financial and business analytics assignments that involve evaluating cost structures, examining revenue streams, building financial models, and conducting comparative benchmark studies. As part of a broader consulting ecosystem, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare detailed reports, develop dashboards, and support leadership through data-driven insights. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to support both domestic and international tax engagements while contributing to EY’s reputation for quality, integrity, and innovation.


Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Conduct detailed financial and business analyses, including reviews of revenue models, cost structures, operational metrics, and fiscal indicators to support tax and policy assessments.

  2. Analyze historical and current performance data to identify business patterns, risk areas, and strategic opportunities for optimization.

  3. Assist in preparing insights that help clients understand complex tax policies, regulatory developments, and compliance obligations across countries.

  4. Develop financial models, dashboards, and forecasting tools to evaluate potential outcomes under varied economic and policy scenarios.

  5. Support benchmarking studies, comparing client performance against industry best practices and global tax frameworks.

  6. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather, validate, and reconcile data required for reports and analytical outputs.

  7. Prepare concise policy notes, presentations, executive summaries, and progress reports for leadership and client teams.

  8. Work closely with audit and accounts teams to ensure data integrity, clarity, accuracy, and alignment with compliance standards.

  9. Provide analytical support for decisions relating to risk management, policy impact assessment, and operational improvements.

  10. Assist in embedding new policies, risk mitigation measures, and standard operating procedures introduced as part of tax and regulatory initiatives.

  11. Communicate complex concepts clearly, guide team members on analytical tasks, and act as a point of contact for stakeholders across the function.

  12. Ensure all work aligns with EY’s values, quality standards, and the behaviours required from the LEAD leadership framework.


Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related fields; higher qualifications such as MCA, MSc (Data Science), or MBA (Finance) are highly preferred.

  2. At least 1 year of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, or business analytics, preferably in a consulting or tax-focused environment.

  3. Strong analytical capabilities with experience performing data-driven evaluations, financial modeling, revenue analysis, and cost-impact assessments.

  4. Proficiency in MS Office tools, Power BI/Tableau, and related data visualization platforms for building dashboards and reports.

  5. Strong understanding of business processes, tax implications, and strategic frameworks used in corporate finance and organizational analysis.

  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for stakeholders at various levels.

  7. Ability to collaborate across departments, contribute to multi-team projects, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  8. Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify insights, and recommend actionable strategies.

  9. Understanding of risk controls, compliance processes, and policy impact assessment within the tax and financial domain.

  10. Ability to work independently, show curiosity, maintain positive energy, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.


Expected Salary

Associates in EY’s TAX – ITTS practice in Hyderabad typically earn between ₹6 lakhs and ₹10 lakhs per annum, depending on analytical expertise, financial modeling skills, and prior industry experience.
