Job Description:
American Express is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analytics Analyst to join the Global Strategy, Enablement & Control (GSEC) β Colleague MIS & Analytics team. This role contributes to strengthening the organizationβs control framework by supporting Conduct Risk MIS, ensuring adherence to ethical business practices, and identifying behaviors misaligned with American Express values. In this position, you will transform raw data into meaningful insights, build logic-based models to detect anomalies, and support reporting that safeguards colleague and customer experiences. The role is suited for professionals who are curious, data-driven, and eager to solve business challenges through actionable analytics.
As a Data Analytics Analyst, you will work with large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, outliers, and potential risk patterns. Your work will involve querying complex data warehouses, applying statistical and logical methods, and designing intuitive dashboards and reports that guide leadership decisions regarding conduct, compliance, and customer interactions. Youβll collaborate across global teams, quickly learn new business domains, and contribute to data-led improvements that elevate operational standards across American Express servicing sites.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and exceptions that highlight conduct or operational risks.

Write and optimize queries using SQL, HQL, BigQuery, or similar languages to extract and transform data from enterprise data warehouses.

Develop logic-based models to systematically flag outliers, unusual trends, and risk indicators for further review.

Convert analytical findings into clear, user-friendly reports, dashboards, and visualizations that enable informed decision-making.

Quickly gain understanding of new business functions, processes, and systems to support evolving analytics needs.

Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to gather requirements, validate insights, and enhance reporting frameworks.

Support continuous improvement of conduct monitoring tools, analytics models, and reporting methodologies.

Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in line with compliance standards.

Present insights and recommendations to leadership, contributing to policy refinement and process optimization.

Adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality delivery in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Bachelorβs degree in a quantitative, analytical, or technical discipline such as Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.

Hands-on experience working with SQL, HQL, BigQuery, or similar query/programming languages for data extraction and analysis.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.

Proficiency in data visualization and reporting, with familiarity in tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.

Ability to learn new datasets, business processes, and KPIs rapidly with minimal guidance.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to data integrity when analyzing sensitive information.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional and global teams.

Preferred: Experience in contact center analytics, process performance metrics, or operational KPI reporting.
Expected Salary:
For a Data Analytics Analyst in Gurugram, the average salary typically ranges between βΉ8.5 LPA and βΉ14 LPA, depending on prior experience, technical skillset, and analytical exposure. Candidates with advanced SQL expertise and experience in large-scale data analytics or contact center performance analytics may receive higher compensation.
