Warrn – Developer Intern

Warrn is looking for a Developer Intern to join its engineering team and work on an AI-powered incident response platform built for modern DevOps and SRE teams. This is a hands-on software development internship where the selected candidate will contribute to real production code, rather than working exclusively on isolated learning projects. The role provides exposure to the development of monitoring systems, alerting workflows, AI-powered agents, integrations, and other core platform capabilities. As a Developer Intern at Warrn, you will have the opportunity to work across the technology stack and understand how software products are designed, developed, tested, and delivered to real users. Roles & Responsibilities

• Build production features: Take software features from initial concepts through implementation, testing, refinement, and deployment while maintaining a focus on reliability, usability, and production readiness.
• Develop backend services: Use Python, Django, and Django Ninja to build and improve backend APIs, business logic, data processing workflows, and services that support the Warrn platform.
• Develop frontend features: Work with Next.js and TypeScript to transform product requirements and designs into functional, responsive, and maintainable frontend experiences.
• Work across the technology stack: Contribute to both frontend and backend components, gaining practical full-stack development experience and understanding how different application layers interact.
• Build monitoring capabilities: Contribute to core platform functionality involving monitors, alerts, system events, and operational workflows designed to help engineering teams identify issues.
• Contribute to AI agents: Help improve AI-powered agents that investigate incidents, interpret operational information, and assist engineering teams with incident response and resolution workflows.
• Develop integrations: Work on integrations with tools such as Slack and monitoring platforms, enabling Warrn to connect incident information and workflows with the systems engineering teams already use.
• Participate in product decisions: Collaborate directly with the founder to understand product requirements, evaluate implementation approaches, discuss technical trade-offs, and contribute ideas for improving the platform.
• Own features independently: Take responsibility for meaningful areas of the product instead of simply completing isolated assigned tickets, demonstrating initiative and end-to-end ownership.
• Test and improve code: Debug issues, test new functionality, identify potential problems, and continuously improve the quality, performance, maintainability, and reliability of production software.
• Learn rapidly: Explore unfamiliar technologies and concepts when required, adapt to changing product requirements, and continuously strengthen software engineering and problem-solving skills.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Python Development: Strong working knowledge of Python is required. Candidates should be comfortable writing backend code and building or working with APIs rather than having only theoretical programming knowledge.
• Django & API Development: Familiarity with Django and Django Ninja is expected for backend development. Applicants should understand concepts such as routes, APIs, request handling, authentication, data models, and backend application architecture.
• Next.js & TypeScript: Candidates should be comfortable using Next.js and TypeScript to develop frontend functionality and take a feature from an interface or design requirement to working application code.
• Full-Stack Understanding: A basic understanding of how frontend applications communicate with backend APIs, databases, third-party services, and other infrastructure components is highly valuable for this role.
• Software Development Fundamentals: Strong knowledge of programming fundamentals, debugging, version control, application architecture, testing, and clean coding practices will help candidates contribute effectively to production software.
• Problem-Solving Ability: The ideal candidate should be comfortable breaking down ambiguous technical problems, investigating potential solutions, experimenting with approaches, and independently moving toward a practical implementation.
