The User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Test Manager role at HSBC is a critical leadership position within the global banking and financial services ecosystem. This role focuses on ensuring that complex payment and sanctions-related systems meet business, regulatory, and performance requirements before deployment. As a UAT Test Manager, you will be responsible for validating that system specifications are correctly implemented and aligned with real-world business workflows. Your work directly contributes to regulatory compliance, operational stability, and customer trust across HSBC’s global payments and sanctions platforms.

In this position, you will take end-to-end ownership of UAT activities for Global Payments systems, including strategy creation, planning, scheduling, execution, retesting, and final delivery. Acting as the central coordination point, you will work closely with application teams, operations, technology stakeholders, and global project streams. Your leadership ensures test environments are ready, test data is accurately set up, and UAT milestones are delivered within defined service level agreements, maintaining high-quality testing standards across releases.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end User Acceptance Testing activities for Global Payments and sanctions-related systems.

  • Define UAT strategy, scope, approach, and documentation aligned with regulatory and business requirements.

  • Plan and control UAT schedules, test calendars, and release timelines in collaboration with UAT leads and testers.

  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure test environments and test data are prepared and available on time.

  • Oversee test execution, retesting cycles, and test delivery while tracking progress against defined metrics.

  • Manage defect lifecycle by reviewing, prioritizing, tracking, and ensuring resolution of all UAT defects.

  • Generate weekly UAT status reports and management dashboards for senior stakeholders and CoE governance.

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis and support leadership with ad-hoc reports and performance insights.

  • Perform quality audits covering test preparation, execution, and defect management to ensure correctness and reliability.

  • Ensure risk-based testing with full functional coverage while optimizing testing resources efficiently.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business users, operations teams, and global stakeholders.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT and ISO payment messages, including end-to-end payment flows and enrichment processes.

  • Hands-on experience with FIRCO, GPI, Wolf, and sanctions screening systems, including filters and rule configurations.

  • In-depth understanding of sanctions regulations and alert adjudication processes, including false positives and true matches.

  • Experience managing UAT for large-scale banking or financial services platforms in regulated environments.

  • Solid project management skills with the ability to reprioritize workloads based on changing business demands.

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders across applications, operations, and multiple project streams globally.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly to varied audiences.

  • Strong written communication skills for preparing accurate, concise, and decision-oriented business reports.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to influence and negotiate with teams without direct reporting authority.

  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills to manage multiple testing initiatives simultaneously.
