Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirement documents and product specifications to ensure comprehensive coverage.

2. Execute manual testing across functional, regression, usability, and performance areas to identify defects and validate system behavior.

3. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and participate actively in requirement analysis discussions.

4. Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar industry frameworks.

5. Perform root-cause analysis for identified bugs, document defects thoroughly, and track them through established bug tracking systems.

6. Continuously refine the testing process by suggesting improvements, identifying opportunities for automation, and adopting best practices.

7. Prepare and share detailed reports on testing progress, defect trends, and test coverage metrics for stakeholders and project teams.

8. Stay updated with emerging tools, testing methodologies, and industry trends to enhance personal expertise and contribute to team capability building.

9. Participate in code reviews when required and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen overall software quality.

10. Investigate customer-reported issues, reproduce defects, and document findings clearly to support effective resolution by the development team.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech, M.Sc (CS/IT) or MCA graduates from the 2023 batch with strong academic performance (minimum 65% in UG/PG and 75% in SSLC/HSC).

2. No academic gaps of any kind, ensuring consistent educational performance and commitment.

3. Completion of any certification or course in software testing is an added advantage and demonstrates readiness for practical testing roles.

4. Good understanding of software testing processes, QA methodologies, and familiarity with testing tools used in manual and automation testing.

5. Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or C++ to support automated script development and framework understanding.

6. Exposure to automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit, along with familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins or test management tools like JIRA or TestRail.

7. Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail, with the ability to evaluate edge cases and identify defects efficiently.

8. Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, and project managers.

9. Ability to articulate technical issues clearly, document findings thoroughly, and provide constructive feedback during reviews.

10. Familiarity with various testing methodologies including black-box, white-box, and user acceptance testing, showcasing versatility in approach.
