Role Overview

As a Senior Java Automation Test Engineer, you will lead automation initiatives, design scalable test frameworks, and ensure end-to-end quality of enterprise applications. You’ll work in an Agile, collaborative environment, leading a team of test engineers and driving continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Your leadership, hands-on expertise in Java-based automation, and experience with API and BDD frameworks will be key to delivering reliable, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Automation Test Engineers for successful project delivery.

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks using Selenium, Cucumber, or JBehave.

• Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.

• Perform functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing for web and API layers.

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams in Agile/Scrum setups.

• Conduct test planning, estimation, and execution reviews to ensure optimal coverage.

• Perform API testing using REST, SoapUI, Postman, and validate responses (JSON/XML).

• Ensure seamless test automation for web applications (JS, HTML, CSS).

Core Requirements

• 6–9 years of hands-on experience in Core Java and Selenium.

• Deep understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and automation best practices.

• Expertise in:

  • Automation Frameworks: Java, Selenium, Cucumber/JBehave, TestNG/JUnit

  • API Testing: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML

  • Tools: Eclipse IDE, SoapUI, Postman, HP ALM, Fiddler, SQL

• Strong knowledge of BDD frameworks and test design principles.

• Proven experience in CI/CD automation and test reporting.

• Excellent communication skills (English proficiency B2+).

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent CI/CD tools.

• Background in API architecture, client-server communication, and test virtualization.

• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Docker environments.

Estimated Salary Range (Chennai, 2025 Market):
